Father Gratien Lajoie S. C.

Brotherhood of "Frère du Sacré-Coeur"

1924 - 2002

Our brother Gratien terminated his earthly pilgrimage on December 29th, 2002. Hospitalised at the beginning of December at the hospital Hotel-Dieu d’Arthabaska, he was immediately transferred to the intensive care unit at St. Joseph Hospital in Trois-Rivières due to a renal insufficiency. On December 24th, he was transferred to room464 where he received care and comfort till his death.

A distinguished man, religiously deeply engaged, Gratien led, with conviction, the Good battle. Educator-teacher to the young for 22 years, he was also responsible of their formation for 9 years. Ordained priest in 1977, he was almoner of our establishments and founded the Return to Jesus-Teacher centre (Centre de ressourcement Jesus-Enseignant) in 1987.

The Father Gratien Lajoie was the confessor and the spiritual father of Micheline Boisvert of 1998 to 2002. He was one of the first priests to recognize the Eucharistique union which the Lord made live in Micheline during the mass. By its courage and its testimony in the Church it gave life to the mission of the Welcoming Heart of Jesus in spite of certain oppositions with which it was confronted.
